Artists Carien Vugts and Lisa Couwenbergh both have their own strong visual language. Yet their work also shows similarities. For example, forms derived from nature play an important role and their work also has an alienating undertone. Moreover, they both depict twilight, when nothing is completely clear anymore and feelings of surrealism and melancholy dominate. Want to check it out for yourself? Vugts’ and Couwenbergh’s work meet in a subtle way in the Blue Hour exhibition.
