When have we seen empty streets before in Utrecht? It was way back in 1973, when the world faced an oil crisis. Due to the fuel shortage, Prime Minister Den Uyl introduced car-free Sundays: from 4 November 1973 to 6 January 1974, cars were not allowed on the road on Sundays. This photo was taken on a car-free Sunday on Potterstraat, close to Neude square.
