Erik Zwart (32) is co-owner of KEEK lunch room and De Keuken van KEEK bakery in the Museum quarter. Staff in the bakery bake authentic sausage rolls, original vegan cakes and addictive date crumble biscuits, which you buy to take away or to be eaten in the lunch room with a cup of filter coffee. When Erik isn’t in KEEK, you’ll find him on stage singing with the Utrecht rock band Coppersky.

‘I love coming to the Lepelenburg because of all the festivals and concerts organised here. It’s a small, lovely park.’

‘The Wild West for kids. There’s also an orchard that you can hire for next to nothing. Great for a children’s party or if you want to celebrate with friends.’
‘De Helling is my favourite concert venue as the sound is so good. They have loads of great acts on the programme.’
‘I buy all my shirts at the Katoenfabriek. It’s like walking into a real factory, with an enormous printing machine at the back. You choose a shirt, choose what you want printed on it and they do it while you wait! All the materials are renewable, such as organic cotton and bamboo.’
‘I went to De Drie Dorstige Herten for the first time last year. You have to visit this bar. The staff behind the bar serve special beers and can tell you all about them. To me, that’s part of trying a new beer: learning about its background. And just for the record: the special beers brewed in and around Utrecht are fabulous.’
