Keti Koti Utrecht launches a new Library Event: Begin at Your Roots

On Sunday, January 5, 2025, Stichting Comité 30 juni/1 juli Utrecht (Keti Koti Utrecht) and Bibliotheek Utrecht at Neude will host the first edition of their new event series Wake Up in the Library. Under the theme Begin at Your Roots, the foundation invites participants to an inspiring breakfast session from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

The event will feature a lecture by Hella Matroos, who will share her personal story and reflections on the impact of the history of slavery. Following the lecture, attendees can join an interactive workshop, organized in collaboration with the Utrechts Archief, to learn how to explore their own roots and gain insights into historical records.

The goal of the Wake Up in the Library series is to enhance knowledge and awareness about the history of slavery and its lasting impact on society. The event is free to attend and includes breakfast.
