Willem Harbers, Starpflug One; steal, marble, synthetic, pearl lacquer, 2013

From mid-January onwards, the KuuB art gallery (Pieterstraat 3) will focus on the infallible system, in which anything is possible. Artist Willem Harbers makes constructions that resemble functional industrial machines. Although they don’t actually work, they all represent something that should work. Artist Annemieke Alberts paints empty rooms on flat surfaces. At first glance, her work feels comfortable, but a closer look prompts all kinds of questions. Is it inside or outside? Is it a room at all?
