Premières, budding talent, innovative choreographers and experimental theatre: ten days isn’t nearly enough to discover all that SPRING has to offer. The festival takes place in Theater Kikker and Stadsschouwburg Utrecht, as well as in unexpected public places such as the Kanaleneiland district. Most of the shows are suitable for English speakers. Three highlights: in ‘Every-One’ by the Austrian choreographer Willi Dorner, a group of boys and girls dance on the street in Kanaleneiland. The dance performance ‘Anti-Gravity’ revolves around the volatility of clouds, while the extravagant pop spectacle ‘An Atypical Brain Damage’ by the Chinese visual artist Tianzhou Chen portrays a culture clash between Asia and Europe.
