Wild bees are a crucial link in our food chain: over seventy percent of all crops need to be pollinated and bees are responsible for ninety percent of this task. But they are having a tough time at the moment. Half of the 358 species of bees are under threat of extinction because they are running out of living space and food. So eleven Dutch natural history museums, including University Utrecht Museum, are hosting exhibitions to highlight the importance of these very special insects. A must-see!
