This year, the Utrechtsch Studenten Concert, the oldest symphony orchestra in the Netherlands, will be 195 years old. To celebrate this, it is performing the most magnificent Dutch opera ever written in a very special location: in the open air at the former airbase in Soesterberg. The opera is about local hero Thijl Uilenspiegel, who became a symbol of unyielding national spirit during the Dutch War of Independence. The performance is also suitable for non-Dutch speakers. To tempt you further: your opera ticket is also valid for a visit to the Dutch Military Museum located on the former airbase.
