After the police have spent months vainly searching for the person who murdered her daughter, Mildred Hayes (Frances McDormand) makes a brave decision. She leaves three controversial messages on billboards along the road leading to her village Ebbing. They are aimed at the chief of police William Willoughby (Woody Harrelson). The battle between Mildred and Ebbing’s law enforcement intensifies when police officer Dixon (Sam Rockwell), an immature mummy’s boy with a violent streak, gets involved. This dark yet funny drama by Oscar winning Martin McDonagh (In Bruges), won the ‘Best Scenario’ category at the Venice Film Festival.
