Spring is in the air, so Utrecht Botanic Gardens are again open to the public. The gardens, which are among the oldest university gardens in the Netherlands, are located in the heart of the Utrecht Science Park and around the nineteenth-century Fort Hoofddijk. They are home to some of the world’s most beautiful plants and flowers, from rock garden plants and medicinal flowers to orchids and other tropical and subtropical plants. Tip: buy a packed lunch from the Botanica café and have a picnic on the grass.
