It’s spring so the Utrecht Botanic Gardens are about to re-open. The gardens, set in Utrecht Science Park in and around the nineteenth-century Fort Hoofddijk, are the oldest university gardens in the Netherlands. They are home to beautiful plants and flowers from all around the world, from rock plants to orchids and other tropical and sub-tropical plants. You’ll also find edible and medicinal plants and flowers. And Botanica café will even wrap up your lunch so you can enjoy a picnic in the grounds.
