Is what you see real, or imagined? Where does tangible reality end and the boundless world of our imagination begin? Step into Lichtgang, a mini-cinema that plays a game with the phenomenon of ‘afterimage’.

Starting with a canvas of pure darkness, a circle of light awakens from the darkness. You are invited to keep looking straight into this circle of light and surrender to the play of colours that produces an almost hallucinatory experience. In the enigmatic game between perception and reality, our brain balances on the thin line of interpretation. Is what you see reality, or a creation of your own mind? What did you see? And what did the other see? Talk to each other about it and marvel at what your mind and eyes are capable of.

Stimulus
Schweigman& continuously researches embodied experience and sensory perception for its performances and installations. In 2023, the company initiated the exhibition Prikkel about neurodiversity and stimulus processing.

Schweigman& is now continuing the project with related maker Johannes Bellinkx in a series of theatrical experiences that play with perception. How does the world enter you and others? Does an objective reality even exist? Come and experience it!
