Secrets of the attic
This guided tour takes you 16 metres above the floor of Dom Church and into its medieval attic spaces. Enjoy the lovely church interior from the columned gallery before continuing into the attics, where you can look down at the vaulted structure.
The tour begins inside the church. A guide will lead you up a spiral staircase behind the door in the north choir aisle. After about 50 steps, you reach the gallery, or triforium, which once encircled the church but now ends on either side of the organ. The missing sections collapsed during the 1674 storm. From here, the tour continues into the attics above the choir aisles, offering a beautiful view of the vaulting below.
In good weather, the tour takes you onto the flat roof on the Pandhof side of the building. From there, you can see the flying buttresses, the gargoyles and the Pandhof monastery garden below.
This unique 75-minute tour takes place every Sunday afternoon.
Please note that the tour is not suitable for children under the age of 12.
