Hinotori – The Wings of the Phoenix

A Yamato show, which has been on the road for thirty years now, cannot be compared to anything. The rhythms that are beaten from the stage into the hall, the beat of the drums; you feel them in your body. For the members of the group, drumming is their calling. This is necessary, because playing, for example, the taiko drum, which weighs more than five hundred kilos, requires the muscular strength and endurance of a top athlete. The music, the choreography, the lighting, the costumes, right down to the drum sticks: everything is devised and made by the group itself.
