Fred Wesley & The New JB’s
This is the rescheduled concert of 16 March 2025.
Legendary US trombonist Fred Wesley has a CV every musician envies. In the 1960s and 1970s, he was the leader of James Brown’s backing band The JBs – Wesley can be heard on hits like Say It Loud – I’m Black, And I’m Proud, Mother Popcorn and Hot Pants. The trombonist then joined George Clinton’s Parliament-Funkadelic and played with Count Basie’s orchestra. Together with The New JBs – a collection of funk veterans with virtuoso instrument mastery – Wesley will perform his best work tonight, including a few James Brown classics.
