Het Collectief: Crippled Symmetry

Het Collectief: Crippled Symmetry

Morton Feldman (1926-1987) is considered one of the most colourful figures of the American avant-garde of the 1960s. He developed an original and recognisable style in which seemingly random and often minimalist musical events succeed each other in a slow and often infinitely spun-out movement. This creates a higher level of consciousness in the listener in which time and space become tangible.

In ‘Crippled Symmetry’ (1983), a hallucinatory musical ‘trip’ lasting no less than 90 minutes, Morton Feldman (1926-1987) created a universe in which three musicians play an extremely precisely written part at the same tempo.
