The Quinteto Astor Piazzolla has been keeping the legacy of legendary Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992) alive for twenty-five years. The quintet is the only ensemble in the world allowed to bear Piazzolla’s name, above all, it is the only ensemble to emulate the master’s unique and inimitable style of tango nuevo. Piazzolla reshaped tango, was himself a virtuoso on the bandoneon and composed such classics as Oblivion, Libertango and Adiós Nonino (known for “the tear” of Princess Máxima).
