Sara Jiménez: Ave de Plata

At the intersection of flamenco and contemporary dance theatre, Sara Jiménez takes flight with ‘Ave de Plata’ (Silver Bird): a haunting dance solo set to a thrilling soundscape by Spanish sound artist Miguel Marín `Árbol’.

The hunter who shoots a bird immediately realizes who will now become the prey. This ancient myth, where life and death dance around each other, forms the beating heart of Ave de Plata. Directed by Juan Kruz Díaz, Sara Jiménez (Granada, 1989) dances this philosophical reflection on the duality of life with exuberant bodywork. To be reborn, we must accept the end of something within ourselves. Death as rebirth. Such is Ave de Plata, a last and first dance. Melancholic, subdued, yet also fiery and joyful. Like life itself.
