Book Talk: Mieko Kawakami

In 2019, Japanese star author and feminist icon Mieko Kawakami made a breakthrough with the novel Breasts and Eggs. She also wrote short stories, in which she combines her prose with experimental and poetic language. On her first visit to the Netherlands, she will talk about her entire oeuvre in her Book Talk for ILFU.

Exploring Stories

International writers and thinkers will engage in dialogue about topics that concern us all, such as migration, war, colonialism, oppression, climate change and inequality of opportunity. Some names from the line-up: Antonio Scurati, Antjie Krog, Marek Šindelka, Maria Reva, Aimée de Jongh, Vincent Delecroix, Yáng Shuāng-zǐ, Balsam Karam, Janina Ramirez, Anja Meulenbelt, Ibtisam Azem, Doireann Ní Ghríofa, Natalie Wynn and Nidesh Lawtoo.
