.multibeat seamlessly blends beats, R&B, and jazz, connecting with their corresponding fan base. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Robert Glasper, The Free Nationals, and BADBADNOTGOOD, the Utrecht trio, consisting of Boudewijn Pleij (keys), Thijs van Zutphen (bass), and Aron Smit (drums), creates distinctive R&B-hip-hop with a touch of jazz, often collaborating with other artists. Their album ‘channel island,’ set to release in April 2024, is filled with vocal features and serves as a tribute to the Utrecht neighborhood of Kanaleneiland, where the album was produced. Featured on the album are tracks with Pete Philly, GINGE, vAn, Thierry Ganz, Kay Slice, Joya Mooi, Melle Jutte, Leonard Luka, and Tennishu (Butcher Brown).
