Filosofisch Café: Katie Ebner-Landy

Katie Ebner-Landy on philosophical character sketches

Katie Ebner-Landy, assistant professor of aesthetics at Utrecht University, introduces her new book The Character Sketch as Philosophy, followed by commentaries by Romy Eskens, Robert Vinkesteijn and Richard Calis. The participants will reflect on the value of literary descriptions for ethics and political theory, introduce some of the little-known character sketches in philosophical works, and discuss contemporary characters with a questionable reputation, such as the ‘snob’ and the ‘mansplainer’.

The monthly philosophical café of the UU has moved back to Café Hofman!

This edition will be English spoken.
