With Techno-Ancestrality, the IMPAKT Festival 2026 turns to ancestral knowledge as a vital source of inspiration for alternative approaches to technology. Five days of performances, exhibitions, films, and conversations about the power of traditional knowledge in an innovation-driven world. We will explore ancestral knowledge in all its diversity: from cosmology and craft to oral histories, migration, diasporic legacies, Indigenous practices and ways of care. Many of these forms of knowledge emerged long before colonialism and capitalism, and continued to develop as counterforces – as ways of surviving, healing and dreaming.
