Church Marathon

The Church Marathon is a popular part of the festival. The tour takes you past three characteristic Utrecht churches and traditionally offers mulled wine or hot chocolate and an oliebol during the breaks.

This edition starts in Gasthuis Leeuwenbergh or the Nicolaïkerk, then changes location and ends together in the Geertekerk. In each church a beautiful chamber music program sounds that eventually culminates in a version of Messiaen’s moving  Quatuor pour la fin du temps  by a dream quartet with Janine Jansen and Martin Fröst.
