Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience

Van Gogh’s Masterpieces Come to Life in a 360° Exhibition

Step into the world of Van Gogh’s masterpieces and become part of his vibrant universe. Discover the iconic Dutch artist in an entirely new way: more than 200 of his most renowned paintings come to life through impressive projections, graphic artworks, and virtual reality. Visitors are also offered a unique glimpse into Van Gogh’s world through personal letters and short documentaries about his painting techniques. After overwhelming success in over 50 cities worldwide, Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience will be presented for the first time in the Netherlands, at Jaarbeurs Utrecht, starting June 20.

The enchanting world of Vincent van Gogh comes alive in this groundbreaking exhibition. Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience combines art, technology, storytelling, and education to offer a rich and multifaceted perspective on one of the Netherlands’ greatest artists. Visitors embark on a visual journey through sunflower fields and blossoming almond trees, immersing themselves in a dynamic exhibition that brings Van Gogh’s legacy to life in both captivating and educational ways. This unique experience is presented by Exhibition Hub — an international curator, producer, and distributor of large-scale exhibitions and family entertainment — and Fever, the global platform for live entertainment and immersive experiences.

An Innovative Take on a Master

Across a space of no less than 4,000 square meters, visitors will explore the life and work of Vincent van Gogh. This “edutainment” experience offers a fresh look at Van Gogh’s fascinating universe. The exhibition opens with a museum-quality gallery of reproductions, enriched with in-depth context. Visitors gain personal insight into Van Gogh’s life and artistic development, supported by documentaries on his techniques, sources of inspiration, and personal letters. Additionally, guests can step into a reconstructed version of Van Gogh’s bedroom in Arles — a tangible peek into his living environment.

Art, Storytelling, and Technology in One Exhibition

A standout feature of Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is the “immersive room,” where art, storytelling, and technology seamlessly merge. Visitors are surrounded by flowing scenes of self-portraits and works inspired by Van Gogh’s admiration for Japanese art — all brought to life in a spectacular way through 360° projections. They quite literally step into Van Gogh’s most famous paintings and experience them in a way never before possible.

The exhibition also includes a special virtual reality experience: A Day in the Life of the Artist. This ten-minute multisensory deep dive takes visitors through the inspirations behind some of his most beloved works, such as Café Terrace at Night and Starry Night Over the Rhône. For young visitors, there’s a Color & Display studio where they can create and showcase their own Van Gogh-style artwork — a playful and inspiring way to explore their creativity.

“We’re incredibly excited to bring Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience to Utrecht — a city with a rich cultural tradition and the first city in his home country to host this exhibition. After the global success, we’re proud to present this unique experience here. We hope to offer visitors a new way to enjoy his art and learn more about him. It’s a unique opportunity to truly step into the world of Vincent van Gogh,” says Hamza El Azhar, CEO of Exhibition Hub.

Award-Winning Exhibition

This exhibition offers more than just a digital experience — it’s an interactive 360° journey where art, education, and imagination converge. Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience was first recognized in 2021 and was recently awarded Best Immersive Art Experience of 2025 at the prestigious USA TODAY 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards. A true testament to the unforgettable experiences created by Exhibition Hub and Fever. Together, they’ve already thrilled millions of visitors and continue to set the standard for immersive art exhibitions around the world.
