Winterwinkelen (Winter Shopping)

Sunday 24th November marks the return of the annual Winter Shopping event!

The creative hubs Vechtclub XL, Kanaal30, and de Createur will open their doors to visitors. Along the route between these locations in Merwede, you can stop by Karma Kebab and De Betonnerie at Beton-T. With a full programme of music and workshops for all ages, you can enjoy the day and leave with locally made gifts for the holidays or a creation of your own. Winter Shopping is free to attend.

Utrecht Design and Craftsmanship
Is there such a thing as “Utrecht design”? And what does it look like—what’s the work of our down-to-earth city folk like? You’ll find out during Winter Shopping, as the creative hubs in Merwede open their doors to the public. Visitors can wander through the buildings, uncovering hidden woodworking shops and pottery studios. Engage with the makers and be surprised by refined craftsmanship and modern design. At two locations, other local makers will also present their work. Expect a diverse offering of around 100 local ceramicists, jewellers, woodworkers, illustrators, leather artisans, interior designers, and food enthusiasts. Running low on stuff? Then swap an item at the toy exchange or kids’ clothing swap.
